James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine Clinic<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina is South Carolina\u2019s only dental school and a pioneer in oral health innovation.<\/p>\n

With an average enrollment of 75 Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree-seeking students per class and faculty members from diverse educational backgrounds and experiences, the college offers a dynamic and supportive environment of scholarly excellence.<\/p>\n

Dental Clinics Building<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In the Dental Clinics Building, our students gain professional exposure to all aspects of clinical dentistry, as well as a broad range of research activities. The building opened in 2009. Its bold lines and innovative architecture have made it a leading example for many dental schools currently building new clinical facilities. With over 118,000 square feet, 190 operatories, the full spectrum of ambulatory outpatient oral health services, all departments and clinics have enough room to expand as needed while continuing to deliver the highest level of dental care. Our facility also houses a dedicated clinic for patients with special health care needs and many advanced technologies, including CAD\/CAM and 3D printing.<\/p>\n

Basic Sciences Building<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The college\u2019s simulation lab, CAD\/CAM lab, classrooms, all other spaces for didactic instruction and research, a student lounge and administrative offices are in the Basic Sciences Building.<\/p>\n
