Uncover your calling in one of the country’s leading nursing schools. Our programs are taught by skilled, research-helming educators and provide access to interprofessional and clinical opportunities found nowhere else in the state.
As the country’s second-oldest nursing school, the Medical University of South Carolina’s College of Nursing evolves with the profession. Looking ahead to adapt how we train the next generation of RNs, nurse practitioners, researchers and leaders, we consider our students’ greater impact, both through the care they’ll provide and how their skills close the existing healthcare gap.
Today, that progress materializes as results-driven online learning, faculty-led palliative care training across all programs, engaging clinical opportunities and collaborative research with other MUSC colleges. MUSC is the only integrated, academic health sciences center in South Carolina.
Our college also has a strong nursing research program, which ranks in the top 30 of funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Our researchers proudly contribute through collaborations with colleagues across MUSC’s campus. We’re recognized as one of the top 100 universities in the country for funding.
In a world of constant change, we skillfully prepare our students for the ever-evolving role of a nurse, so they can change what’s possible in the lives of their patients and the populations they serve. Our college educates more than 600 students each year, and they go on to earn baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees. No matter your career stage, see how you can foster the future of the nursing profession and join the next generation of nurse leaders.
The College of Nursing is located on Jonathan Lucas Street, just south of the Bioengineering Building and the College of Graduate Studies.
