Students who are actively enrolled in degree-seeking programs carrying at least six credit hours are eligible for medical care at Student Health Services.
The Student Health Services team works collaboratively with colleagues at MUSC’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) to provide interdisciplinary care for conditions such as anxiety, depression, and more. CAPS seeks to facilitate good academic performance and help students develop effective coping strategies to meet the challenges they encounter.
CAPS is dedicated to providing the highest quality short-term, problem-focused and evidence-based mental health services for MUSC students. Our services are entirely confidential. CAPS offers individual and couples therapy and medication management. CAPS also offers psycho-educational groups targeting important issues related to student well-being.
As a student at MUSC, you encounter many new experiences which challenge your personal strengths and require new problem-solving skills. CAPS seeks to facilitate your growth and development by helping you to enhance your personal assets, increase your self-understanding, and develop more effective coping strategies. Through our services, we hope to help you gain the most from your experiences at the Medical University of South Carolina.
